Dental Rehabilitative Oncology is a specialized discipline within dentistry that integrates general dentistry, maxillofacial prosthetics, oral medicine, and oral pathology.

  • Educate and screen patients for the prevention and early detection of potentially malignant oral diseases and oral cancer.
  • Provide dental pre-habilitation before cancer treatment, including surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, bone marrow transplant, or organ transplant.
  • Prevent, control, and treat odontogenic infections in cancer patients.
  • Restore lost functions such as mastication, phonation, aesthetics, and psychological comfort using a multidisciplinary approach.
  • Restore oral cavity functions post-cancer treatment with maxillofacial prosthodontics.
  • Manage oro-dental complications resulting from cancer and its treatment.
  • Communicate effectively with doctors and paramedical staff.

    Management of Oral Precancer and Cancer Preventive Oncology, Onco-surgery, Onco Plastic Surgery, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Paediatric Oncology, Haemat-oncology, Rehabilitative Oncology - 10 hours

    Dental Rehabilitative Oncology General Dentistry, Oral Medicine, Pediatric Dentistry, and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics - 15 hours

    Demonstration Visit to HCG - The specialist in Cancer Care and Demonstration. On site observation, Case based learning, and demonstration of fabrication of Maxillofacial prosthesis - 16 hours
  • Knowledge on role of dental rehabilitative oncology in oral cancer patients
  • Knowledge on emerging technologies and treatments for dental rehabilitation in cancer patients
  • Assess and treat patients with dental prosthetics and implants post-oncology treatment
  • understanding challenges in restoring function and aesthetics after tumor resections and radiation therapy.
  • Address the emotional and psychological aspects of dental rehabilitation in cancer survivors, implementing strategies for effective patient counseling and support
